Inward Investment Programme Manager – Key Responsibilities

· Lead the delivery of the Croydon Means Business (CMB) programme and broader Inward investment and Business engagement, ensuring alignment across all business support, investment and engagement activity within the borough.

· Oversee the design, promotion and delivery of grant programmes, including:

o Shopfront Improvement Grants

o Empty Unit / Shop Activation schemes

o Ensuring strong uptake, compliance, and measurable impact on high street renewal.

· Act as a key interface for inward investment, working proactively with businesses, developers and investors to:

o Secure new investment into Croydon

o Respond to and manage all business enquiries

o Coordinate a clear pipeline of opportunities

· Work across stalled and strategic sites, supporting their promotion and progression by:

o Collaborating with planning, regeneration and external partners

o Contributing to prospectus development and investment marketing

· Lead engagement with business districts and town centre partners, including:

o Working closely with the 9 Business district centre leads

o Supporting the establishment of new business networks in emerging areas

o Strengthening coordination and consistency of business support across the borough

· Manage the planning and delivery of CMB events and business engagement activity (working with our procured partner), including:

o Business forums, investor events and sector-specific sessions

o External promotional events (e.g. UKREiiF, London & Partners activity)

o Ensuring Croydon is positioned as an outward-facing, investment-ready borough

· Build and maintain strong relationships with Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and key stakeholders, including:

o Coordination of initiatives and joint campaigns

o Supporting BID business plans and funding opportunities

o Aligning local priorities with borough-wide economic strategy

· Oversee external partner management linked to business engagement and investment promotion, ensuring delivery against agreed outputs and value for money.

· Contribute to the development of a coherent inward investment narrative and offer, ensuring consistency across:

o Marketing materials and prospectus content

o Investor engagement activity

o Business communications

· Monitor and report on programme performance, outputs and impact, including:

o Grant delivery outcomes

o Business engagement metrics

o Investment leads and conversions

· Responsibility for budget management and funding compliance (UKSPF / Growth Zone etc.)

· Input into policy, strategy and Cabinet reporting

· Oversight of data, CRM systems or enquiries tracking
