Systems Configuration Analyst

We are seeking a high-calibre professional to join the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) team. Your primary objective is to audit, capture, and manage the complex algorithmic configurations of a legacy roadside signage network and oversee its transition into a modern systems estate.

Core Responsibilities

• Information Audit: Assimilate and document complex configuration data for Variable Message Signage (VMS) from a 30-year-old legacy system.
• Data Management: Design and implement robust processes and tools to store and manage vital system information, ensuring operational continuity.
• Systems Transition: Support the migration of legacy data into a new system environment, identifying essential configurations while streamlining redundant data.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with operational contractors, the supply chain, and senior stakeholders to translate technical requirements into manageable formats.

Key Requirements

• Information Synthesis: Proven expertise in capturing and presenting complex data sets from fragmented sources.
• Configuration Management: Experience in creating tools/processes for managing system data and supporting large-scale change or transition programmes.
• Relationship Management: Strong ability to maintain credible relationships with diverse stakeholders and provide high-level advisory support.
• Strategic Delivery: Experience in contract management and delivering priorities within challenging, technical environments.

Desirable Attributes

• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), specifically roadside signage and control methods.
• Technical Literacy: A high-level understanding of IT architecture and data systems (hands-on technical/coding skills are not required).
• Change Management: Experience in systems migration or the tendering process for new technology estates.
