We are seeking an experienced Housing Needs Manager for a hands-on, delivery-focused interim role. You will lead our Housing Options, Homelessness, and Assessment teams during a critical period, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused service with a heavy emphasis on early intervention and prevention.
The Role Operating in a high-demand environment, you will oversee the daily operational functions and statutory duties, including the provision of temporary accommodation and social housing allocations. Your focus will be on:
Effective Leadership: Coaching, mentoring, and performance-managing staff.
Compliance: Ensuring all services and placements meet legislative, safeguarding, and suitability requirements.
Financial Oversight: Monitoring budgets, identifying efficiencies, and managing cost pressures.
Service Improvement: Implementing transformation plans to reduce rough sleeping and improve provider performance.
Key Requirement Specialist Knowledge: Up-to-date expertise in Homelessness and Temporary Accommodation legislation (including the Supported Housing Act and Renters’ Rights Act).
Commercial Acumen: Strong procurement and negotiation skills to secure accommodation in a competitive market.
Data-Driven: Ability to analyse performance trends to drive decision-making.
Strategic Delivery: Experience in managing service improvement plans and reporting to senior leadership.
