About the organisation:
We are a small, independent, not-for-profit organisation providing specialist expertise in audit, assurance and financial oversight. With a strong focus on quality, integrity and technical excellence, we work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to support effective audit delivery and continuous improvement across the sector.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Audit Specialist to join a team of subject-matter experts, providing high-level technical audit advice and support across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, finance colleagues and external partners, you will help shape audit quality, respond to emerging developments, and ensure robust processes and standards are maintained. The role combines technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and analytical work, including supporting audit quality reviews, advising on audit and ethical matters, contributing to fee-related processes, and developing guidance and briefing materials. You will also provide cover and support across the wider audit specialist team as required.
What we are looking for:
- A qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong, up-to-date audit and assurance expertise
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external partners
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadlines
- A collaborative, adaptable approach with sound professional judgement
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
